ABOUT WILLIAMS TOWN PLANNING
Professional Background
Williams Town Planning is solely owned and operated by Benjamin Williams, who, after studying at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) – Gardens Point, obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Town Planning in 2006. With this qualification, Benjamin immediately commenced employment as a Development Planner at Ipswich City Council, undertaking the assessment of Development Applications submitted to Council for approval. Benjamin continued in this role for nearly ten years before temporarily leaving the industry to undertake a more physical role in the manufacturing industry. During this time, he took up a contract role as a Senior Planner at the Department of Housing and Public Works assisting with the former Advancing Queensland Health and Queensland Schools project (2017).

Within two years, Benjamin resumed employment within the industry, working at Urban Utilities as an Infrastructure Agreements Officer, managing and administering Infrastructure Agreements relating to the delivery of water and sewer trunk infrastructure for development occurring within the Somerset, Lockyer, Scenic Rim, Brisbane and Ipswich City Council Local Government Areas. Benjamin continued at Urban Utilities for three years, transitioning into Technical Officer and Development Officer roles before departing and gaining employment as a Senior Town Planner within the private sector until late 2022.

In 2023, Benjamin realised that his skills and experience could be better utilised within the private sector by establishing Williams Town Planning to offer services to clients that include the peace of mind knowing their projects will become reality through dedication and transparency.
